I used to be sure the birds were Anna's, but since they have come back they look more like Allen's - maybe that's what happened - the Annas all left and were then replaced by th - click below for more information on them. Maybe you can help me decide which they are!

only during daylight hours - PST and most birds visit at dusk (4-6pm)
Whatever the size of your feeder - use the following proportions - 1 cup very hot water to 1/4 cup sugar. I use the C&H Baker's sugar as it's finer and melts faster. Cool, then store in frig until needed. Be sure to clean the feeder often and change out the mixture - even if they don't finish it all. I change it out at least every 3 days, so it doesn't get moldy or buggy. There’s no need to use food coloring, as there's usually enough color on the feeder itself to draw the birds to it. My favorite feeder is made in Texas (but I buy them at my local store) called "Best-1 Hummingbird Feeder". It's easy to clean, fill, etc. I have 3 bottles - one hanging, and at least one ready to go in the frig. Hope this helps, have fun!
This Best-1 Feeder has the optional ant trap at the top.
